Broward County is a great place to live with dogs!  Aside from Broward County dog parks, there are a plethora of dog-friendly amenities and services.  There are so many picturesque areas to walk your pup, dog-friendly outside dining venues, and breweries that will welcome your pet for “yappy hour.”  Visit the Real-ativity Pet Guide to discover a multitude of ways to pamper your pup throughout South Florida.

Dogs are not allowed on the beach in Broward County, except for a few stretches of beach in Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood during designated hours.  However, there are many great dog parks to choose from where dogs can socialize and run off-leash. Dogs must be spayed/neutered, older than 4 months, and up-to-date on vaccinations in order to participate at Broward County dog parks.  Be sure to familiarize yourself with Broward County’s Pet Laws to ensure you remain compliant with pet registration and leash laws.

Dog-Friendly Parks in Broward County

alt="Woman on roller blading with her dogs in a dog-friendly Broward County park."

If your pup prefers leashed walks in the park with their favorite human over socializing with other dogs in a dog park, your four-legged friend is in luck.  Broward County offers a wide variety of parks that allow dogs on leashes.  Many parks offer waste disposal bags but bring your own just to be safe.  It’s also a good idea to bring water because pups can overheat easily in our warm tropical climate.  Try to walk your dogs early in the morning or in the evening to prevent burning paws on hot pavement or keep your fur babies in grassy areas.  Most parks don’t allow dogs in natural areas so be sure to keep an eye out for signage.
